2025 OBA Award for Excellence in Elder Law

We are thrilled to share that Jane Meadus, ACE’s Institutional Advocate and Staff Lawyer, has been named the 2025 recipient of the Ontario Bar Association (OBA) Award for Excellence in Elder Law.

This prestigious honour is presented annually by the OBA to recognize exceptional members of the legal profession for their outstanding achievements and lasting contributions to the lives of elderly Ontarians.

Jane was officially presented with the award at the OBA Elder Law Day luncheon on June 19, 2025.

Jane’s Legacy of Leadership

For more than 30 years, Jane has been a tireless advocate for the rights of seniors—especially residents of long-term care homes in Ontario. Her work has shaped the field of elder law through landmark advocacy, public education, media engagement, and legal reform.

Jane is not only a fierce defender of vulnerable seniors, but also a respected mentor and leader in the legal community. Her unwavering dedication to justice and systemic change makes her a truly deserving recipient of this honour.
