Empowering Seniors Against Targeted Scams – We Want to Hear Your Story
Have you or someone you love fallen victim to a scam?
Your experience could help protect others.
Why This Project Matters
Across Ontario, seniors are increasingly targeted by sophisticated scams, such as door-to-door fraud, mortgage schemes, government impersonation, romance scams, tech support hoaxes, and social media scams. These incidents often go unreported—leaving victims feeling alone and unheard. We’re changing that through the power of storytelling.
What We’re Creating
We’re producing a series of short videos featuring real-life stories from seniors and families impacted by scams. These videos will:
-
Be shared on ACE’s YouTube channel
-
Be screened at libraries and community events
-
Include insight from legal and police professionals to help educate others
Who Can Participate?
We’d love to speak with:
-
Seniors (or their family members) who have experienced fraud
-
Legal professionals familiar with senior-focused cases
-
Police officers who have investigated these types of scams
Participation is simple and accessible:
-
We’ll travel to you at a convenient time and location
